Duties:
St. Norbert College seeks an experienced admissions professional
to fill the position of Associate Director of Admissions - Chicago.
This position will serve as the primary territory manager and
conduct recruitment activities designed to attract prospective
students to the College, creating a deliberate expansion of Chicagoland
territory results. Additional responsibilities include: developing
short and long-term strategic plans for the College's Chicago-area
student recruitment efforts; setting strategy and leading in the
development and coordination of additional partnerships with other
Chicago-area Catholic high schools; and utilizing telemarketing,
technology, and other communication techniques to enhance and
maintain a student's level of interest in the College. This position
is based in-office in De Pere, WI.
Experience:
Qualifications include: a Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred),
3-5 years of previous admission experience (preferably at a liberal
arts College ) and exceptional computer skills. Additional desirable
qualifications include: experience with an enrollment management
philosophy and previous experience with financial aid and net
revenue strategies. Previous experience dealing with SCT Banner
is a plus.

The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire’s 333-acre campus is known as Wisconsin’s most beautiful. The University spans both banks of the Chippewa River in the heart of western Wisconsin’s largest city, Eau Claire. From the campus, students and staff can bicycle on the Chippewa River Trail or relax on a quiet hike through the 200-acre greenbelt that adjoins the campus. A city of over 65,000, Eau Claire is located 90 miles east of Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minnesota. The surrounding area has more than 2,000 lakes, numerous trout streams and state and county parks where students and staff can enjoy camping, canoeing, fishing, and skiing.
The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire derives its national reputation for academic excellence from an outstanding faculty and student body. This quality has earned numerous citations from such sources as Martin Nemko’s book, How to Get an Ivy League Education at a State University, and in Money Magazine’s Money College Guide, which singled out the University as “worth a special look” among the UW System’s 13 universities. The University’s 10,500 student choose from over 80 undergraduate majors and areas of concentration in Arts and Sciences, Business, Education, Human Sciences and Services, and Nursing along with 18 graduate degree programs. Class size averages 29; and no classes are taught by teaching assistants. Students work closely with professions on research projects and other scholarly activities. Position
As a member of the Admissions Office staff, this individual will play a very important role in recruitment and outreach activities related to the Materials Science Center and STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) initiatives at UW – Eau Claire. This individual will represent the UW-Eau Claire at high school visits, educational fairs, college/career days/nights, and other outreach events throughout Wisconsin and Minnesota, emphasizing STEM fields. He/she will conduct presentations with prospective students and their parents during campus visits. The selected candidate will inform prospective students, parents, and high school counseling staff of the admission requirements and procedures, and educational opportunities available at UW-Eau Claire, highlighting STEM fields.
This individual will develop and implement special efforts to recruit STEM students to the University. He/she will facilitate presentations made by UW- Eau Claire science faculty to area high schools. The selected candidate will assist with special recruitment projects, telecounseling activities, event planning for special on-campus group visits, and on-going daily correspondence. This person will perform other duties as assigned by the Director and Assistant Director of Admissions.
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree is required. Demonstrated skills working with diverse student populations and knowledge of university and UW System policies are highly desirable. The ideal candidate will possess strong verbal and written communication skills. Additionally she/he must have excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills, comfort with technology, proven leadership ability, strong organizational and managerial abilities and an aptitude to work creatively and independently. The individual must be willing to handle long and often irregular work hours. The ability to travel independently and extensively in Wisconsin and other areas of the upper Midwest are required. Familiarity with UWEC and/or a degree in the STEM fields will be considered an asset. 1-2 years experience working with high school and/or college students will be considered an asset.
